frank lloyd wright’s kenneth laurent house up for auction. Thanks @designboom

Prairie school architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s ‘Kenneth Laurent house’ in Rockford, Illinois is up for auction by Chicago-based international auction house wright. Designed for a wheelchair-bound veteran and constructed between 1949 and 1952, the residence is the architect’s first exploration of an open plan arrangement within the form of an ellipse, which recurrently appeared in his work throughout the 1950s. The 2,500 square foot dwelling arranges three bedrooms and two bathrooms within a flowing and gently curved space to provide accessibility for the inhabitants.
